Arrests in multiple states linked to kidnapping and murder of North Texas man
SUMMARY: In August, police discovered a body in Farmer’s Branch and found two children walking near the highway, linked to a Venezuelan gang’s nationwide ATM theft. Authorities are searching for 29-year-old Johnny Jesus Martinez Serrano, one of four suspects wanted for the murder of 33-year-old Nilu Petit, with the others in custody in Colorado and New Mexico. All suspects face capital murder and aggravated kidnapping charges. Petit was allegedly kidnapped from a Dallas apartment, and killed for suspected stolen money. The children were unharmed. Police consider the incident isolated and seek public assistance in locating Serrano.
Three men, allegedly connected to a Venezuelan gang, were arrested across multiple states for the kidnapping and murder of a North Texas man. A fourth suspect is still on the run.
