Are there enough lifeguards to open Jackson’s pools?
SUMMARY: Next Saturday, four pools will open for the summer: Grove Park Pool, Mill Street Pool, Vine Street Pool at Tougaloo, and the VA Legion Pool. Three additional water features, the splash pads at Presidential Hills and the Zoo, and a sprinkler at Lake Hyco, will also be available. Parks and Recreation Director Abraham Muhammad credits increased lifeguard staffing for the extra openings. While no pools in South Jackson will open, plans to open the Terry Road Pool were halted due to recent vandalism, which will cost $10,000 to repair. Check the website for opening times and prices.
