Another federal court rules against DACA, this time related to health care | National

SUMMARY: A federal court has ruled against the Biden administration’s plan to provide free health care to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients, marking the fourth time courts have opposed the DACA program. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) redefined “lawfully present” to include DACA recipients, but this was challenged by a coalition of 19 states. The court granted an injunction, stating CMS exceeded its authority and violated federal law prohibiting illegal immigrants from receiving federal benefits. The ruling prevents more than 200,000 DACA recipients from accessing ACA coverage, with the U.S. Supreme Court expected to ultimately decide the case.

Rain returns Sunday night
