SUMMARY: Portions of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, including areas extending back to Oklahoma, are experiencing severe thunderstorm warnings. These storms, driven by multi-convective systems following the jet stream, have persisted over several days. Heavy rainfall and 60+ mph damaging wind gusts pose risks, with saturated soils already causing concerns for power outages and fallen trees. The morning hours should be primarily dry before the system intensifies by mid-morning, leading to severe conditions by evening. Additional storms are expected into Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will range from the 60s and 70s in the morning to highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. A cold front by week’s end may finally bring drier conditions.
