Another 175 cadets graduate from National Guard's Youth Challenge Academy
SUMMARY: Today, 175 cadets graduated from the Youth Challenge Academy’s 22-week program at Camp Shelby, aimed at giving at-risk youth a second chance at education. The military-style program helps students earn their GED and acquire job skills. Graduates expressed pride in their achievements, noting the program’s effectiveness, with an impressive 80% pass rate compared to the national average of 56%. Many cadets chose this path over two additional years in high school. Since 1994, over 11,600 cadets have graduated from the program, which includes a 12-month post-residency support phase with case workers.

Good Morning Meridian Tori Alvarado’s forecast 12/17/24
