Annual fishing tournament held to raise awareness to prevent child drowning
SUMMARY: Young fishermen from Hancock County competed in the second annual Sawyer Scarborough Memorial Fishing Tournament. The tournament provided an opportunity for families and young fishermen to enjoy fishing and learn ways to prevent future tragedies. The tournament was organized by the Hancock County Arena, with the goal of giving kids in the community a chance to experience the outdoors. The foundation behind the tournament aims to get back to the kids in their communities who may not have the opportunity to go fishing and appreciate nature. The members of the foundation want to raise awareness about how many children have never held a fishing rod.
The 2nd Annual Sawyer Scarborough Memorial Fishing Tournament serves as an outreach to prevent children drowning.
