Animal welfare institute helps pets of domestic violence victims in Tupelo
SUMMARY: The Safe Incorporated organization, in partnership with the Le Humane Society and with funding from the Animal Welfare Institute, is providing assistance to domestic violence survivors by offering temporary shelter for their pets. This initiative aims to address the concerns of victims who are hesitant to leave their abusers for fear of their pets’ safety. The program includes veterinary care and safety planning for those seeking to escape dangerous situations. The collaboration between Safe Incorporated and the Humane Society offers a solution for survivors who have reported threats, harm, or the killing of their pets in previous domestic violence situations.
Victims of domestic violence now have help for their pets as well.

Interview: Starkville hosting holiday bazaar Nov. 20-21

The event is a fundraiser for the Main Street Association, supporting downtown beautification and economic development. This year, Bank Plus has joined as the event’s first-ever sponsor. Community participation is encouraged for a festive shopping experience.

Mannsdale Upper Elementary celebrates National Blue Ribbon School recognition
