IMMS President Dr. Moby Solangi in studio to talk about cold stunned turtles, give update on
SUMMARY: Dr. Mobi Salangi from The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies discussed the cold-stunned sea turtles arriving from Massachusetts. Twenty-three turtles will be flown in for rehabilitation, taking around three to four months, with support from Mississippi State University’s veterinary team. Once recovered, many will be released with satellite tags for tracking. Salangi also mentioned four dolphins found dead at Petit Bois Island, with ongoing necropsies to investigate the cause, which may be environmental or indicative of an epidemic.
