AMR helps first responders with mental health

SUMMARY: Public safety relies heavily on First Responders, but this commitment often with significant mental challenges. Traditionally, these workers have been encouraged to tough it out, but attitudes are shifting. AMR is leading a national initiative, ‘Responder Strong,’ which offers mental health for emergency responders and workers. They courses on mental health, stress management, suicide awareness, and resilience at no cost to 94 responders nationwide. Participants can then share this knowledge within their communities, aiming to normalize discussions around mental health and reduce stigma, as about 30% of First Responders endure PTSD and depression.
