Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba has requested proposals to establish an ambulance service specifically for the city of Jackson. AMR is contracted by Hinds and Smith Counties, but most of their ambulances are located in Jackson. The new service would be required to operate only within the city and meet specific response times or face fines. AMR is working to address these challenges, but they are not the only ones facing these issues.
