Elon Musk email federal workers to explain what they did last week
SUMMARY: Elon Musk, head of the new Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), faces backlash for demanding federal employees submit a list of five weekly accomplishments within 48 hours, threatening resignation for non-compliance. While the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) confirmed the request, it did not mention potential terminations, stating individual agencies would determine follow-up actions. Confusion arises as FBI Director Cash Patel advises personnel to pause their responses, opting for internal interviews instead. Critics argue Musk’s heavy-handed approach lacks compassion and complexity, emphasizing the intricacies of government operations, with unions promising to challenge any unlawful dismissals.
