Alleged animal abuser fired from Corinth sewage department

Following the discovery of over two dozen “severely malnourished” dogs, including one found dead, Hurst and his fiancée, Sondra Bullard, face 27 counts of animal cruelty, which could result in up to 13.5 years in prison and over $27,000 in fines. The Corinth-Alcorn Animal Shelter is caring for the surviving animals. Donations to support the shelter are being collected as authorities respond to this serious case of animal abuse.

What to know before heading to the polls for runoff elections

SUMMARY: Mississippi voters are returning to the polls on November 26 for runoff elections in two judicial races where no candidate achieved the required majority. Similarly, in the Court of Appeals District 5 runoff, Amy St. Pe’ and Jennifer Schloegel will compete following a close primary. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and voters must bring photo ID.
