“Arti Gras” aims to improve small Mobile park
SUMMARY: Neighbors in a historic mobile neighborhood are revitalizing a small City Park through the Arty GR event this weekend. Local artists have donated their work for sale or raffle to raise funds for improvements in the pocket park located in the Detonti Square Historic District. One goal is to elevate the planters for easier access. Organizers hope to increase awareness of the tucked-away park, encouraging more visitors to explore nearby restaurants and coffee shops. The event will take place Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM at Flambo Hall on St. Anthony Street, with hopes for it to become an annual tradition.

Hot and dry this week for Alabama

This afternoon, temperatures will reach around 87°F, with a slight chance of isolated showers in far East Alabama. Expect plenty of sunshine and hotter conditions throughout the week, with temperatures nearing the low 90s by Friday and Saturday. Although fall officially starts on Sunday at 7:43 PM, it will feel more like summer with upper 80s expected. Attention will also be on upcoming tropical weather developments.

Election Reminders | September 17, 2024 | News 19 at 10 p.m.
SUMMARY: Huntsville is one week away from runoff elections, specifically for District One voters. This Thursday marks the last day for in-person absentee voting. Voters should visit the City Clerk’s office for assistance. Additionally, absentee ballots must be hand-delivered by the end of the business day on Monday, September 23rd. The election will take place on Tuesday, where officials will be elected for the District One Huntsville City School Board. Make sure to be prepared to participate in the upcoming election.
