Absentee ballot requests rise as November General Election approaches
SUMMARY: As the November General Election approaches, the Mississippi Secretary of State’s office has reported that 15,856 absentee ballots have been requested. So far, only 9,300 have been returned. This could be an indication of voter turnout on election day. To request a ballot, voters need to contact their local circuit clerk. Voters can also track their ballot using the My Election Day ballot tracker on the Secretary of State’s website. All mail-in absentee ballots must be postmarked by November 7th and received within five business days of the General Election Day to be counted.
