‘A tragic situation:’ Tindell provides details in Bay St. Louis shooting

New details of the officer involved shooting in Bay St. Louis that claimed the lives of two officers emerged Friday after the Mississippi Department of Public Safety released a timeline of events.

Sgt. Steven Robin and Officer Branden Estorffe died after answering a welfare check call to Motel 6 on Highway 90 in Bay St. Louis and speaking with Amy Anderson.

A motel clerk called 911 at the request of Anderson, who said she was being followed. She and her 8-year-old daughter checked into the motel about 2:30 a.m. The call for a welfare check came about 3:35 a.m.

SUMMARY: Expect significant delays on Coast Transit Authority (CTA) fixed routes from April 11-14, 2025, due to Spring Break traffic on Highway 90 and Pass Road.
