The cameras, paid for through grants, provide footage at key intersections and can be monitored in real time at the incident command center. This allows for quick response by officers and aids in follow-up investigations. The city benefits from 24/7 surveillance, with the cameras also available to E911 dispatchers. The Real-Time Incident Command Center can monitor surveillance cameras, officer’s body cameras, and cameras in patrol cars, enhancing overall safety measures in Tupelo.
