A look at Coastal conditions following Hurricane Francine
SUMMARY: Fran Francine struck the Gulf Coast overnight, causing significant wave action and flooding. Video footage from Highway 90 and Long Beach showed water covering roads and intense wind effects, including signs and plants being blown around. A stranded vehicle was reported around 3:00 AM. In Hancock County, conditions were still precarious, though flooding was less severe than in past storms. Emergency officials reported about 631 flooded streets, especially in low-lying areas. As tides recede, crews are assessing safety and clearing debris. Overall, while damage occurred, the situation could have been much worse given the storm’s strength.
Bill Snyder is in the First Alert Storm Tracker, showing us conditions in Hancock County Thursday morning after Hurricane Francine.
