A chase through Oktibbeha County ends with a man in jail
SUMMARY: Erick Lamar Robertson, 47, faces charges of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Failure to Stop when Officers Signal Felony, and Possession of a Schedule 2 Controlled Substance after a chase in Oktibbeha County, Mississippi. Deputies initiated the pursuit following a traffic stop, ending on Montgomery Street in Starkville after officers deployed spike strips. Robertson attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended. He is currently held in the Oktibbeha County Jail awaiting his Initial Appearance in Justice Court, with bond not yet set. The Starkville Police Department and Mississippi Highway Patrol assisted in the chase.

SUMMARY: WREG is seeking records and bodycam footage of an incident in Southaven, Mississippi, where a police officer allegedly pointed a stun gun at 9-year-old Ahmar Anderson on Nov. 7. The officer mistook him for a robbery suspect, but Ahmar was wearing a purple and white letterman jacket, not matching the description. Ahmar’s mother, Shaquita Anderson Wade, believes he was targeted due to his size and race. Despite the incident, Ahmar has received support, including from police officers, and his mother hopes he feels safe calling the authorities in the future. SUMMARY: An officer-involved shooting in McComb, Mississippi, resulted in one suspect’s death on November 14. Police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of 25th Street, where two suspects exited. One suspect threatened officers with a weapon, leading to the officers shooting him. Authorities are searching for additional suspects believed to be in a gray 2016 Dodge Charger. One individual has been arrested, and investigators think three or four more were involved. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is looking into the incident, urging the public to avoid the suspects, who are considered armed and dangerous.
