SUMMARY: Conway, Arkansas, is set to benefit from a new community center, a project made possible by voters approving a bond measure in early 2022. The mayor recalls discussions from the 1970s about the need for such a facility, which will now include various amenities like indoor and outdoor pools, volleyball and pickleball courts, a gym, and event spaces. City spokesperson Bobby Kelly emphasized the importance of affordable membership and day pass pricing to ensure community access. The center is expected to open its doors in summer 2023, becoming a vital hub for residents and visitors alike. Hiring will begin in February, with membership sign-ups in late spring.

Crews in Conway have been hard at work with the construction of a new community center. Soon, people will be able to reap the benefits of their hard work.

Currently, raw milk sales are illegal unless purchased directly from a farm, leading to long drives for customers like the Ballard family, who sell it at $21 per gallon. Proponents, including State Senator Alan Clark, are pushing a bill to amend this law, framing it as a matter of choice. Conversely, food safety expert Dr. Jennifer Acuff emphasizes the risks associated with raw milk, stressing that pasteurized milk remains safer overall.
