Trump’s order to release thousands of JFK files could shed more light on 1963 assassination
SUMMARY: President Donald Trump has ordered the release of thousands of classified files related to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy, as part of a series of executive actions in his second term. While many researchers anticipate no major revelations, interest in the details remains high. The order mandates a plan for declassifying records within 15 days and includes similar provisions for records on the assassinations of Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. While some documents have shed light on the operations of intelligence services and Oswald’s activities, about 3,000 records are still withheld, with some not subject to earlier disclosure requirements.

Democrats and voting groups say a bid to toss out North Carolina ballots is an attack on democracy
SUMMARY: In North Carolina, the outcome of a Supreme Court race remains uncertain as Republican candidate Jefferson Griffin challenges the validity of approximately 66,000 ballots, despite two recounts confirming Democratic Justice Allison Riggs’ narrow victory by 734 votes. Griffin’s legal efforts, which could disenfranchise voters like Copland Rudolph, are criticized as attempts to undermine democracy and partisan interests. Legal battles are ongoing in both state and federal courts, amidst accusations of a GOP strategy to contest election results. Critics assert that Griffin lacks evidence of voter ineligibility and that his actions threaten the integrity of free elections.
