Last-minute dispute in ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas has been resolved, officials say
SUMMARY: Hamas launched a significant multi-front attack on Israel, firing thousands of rockets and infiltrating its borders, resulting in numerous casualties. In response, Israel conducted airstrikes in Gaza, leading to hundreds of Palestinian deaths. Amid ongoing ceasefire negotiations mediated by Qatar, a last-minute dispute arose over security arrangements along Gaza’s border with Egypt. Israel rejected Hamas’s proposed changes, calling them unacceptable, while Hamas dismissed these claims. Despite the tensions, Qatari officials reported that the dispute was resolved, but it remains unclear if a final ceasefire agreement has been reached. Negotiations aim to address hostage releases, displaced Palestinians, and humanitarian aid.

Brown-Forman closing Louisville cooperage, reducing global workforce by 12%
SUMMARY: Brown-Forman is closing its cooperage in Louisville, which has been in operation for 80 years, resulting in approximately 210 layoffs. Employees were informed during a morning meeting, leaving many shocked, including Daryl Fogle, a 25-year employee whose family had worked there for generations. While the company will offer severance and other benefits, many employees, including Corey Johnson, acknowledge the tough market conditions, with bourbon sales declining post-pandemic. Despite the uncertainty, employees plan to continue working until the closure in April, focusing on their tasks while navigating this difficult transition.
