Originating in Sicily, they are often filled with ingredients like ham, peas, cheese, or ground meats. The process involves mixing cooked risotto with egg yolks, Parmesan, and seasonings, then shaping the mixture into balls, stuffing them, and coating in breadcrumbs before frying. The dish is versatile, allowing for various fillings like cheese, vegetables, or meats. Arancini can be served as appetizers or main courses, often paired with marinara sauce. They’re delicious both hot or cold and are perfect for using leftovers.
