Seasonably chilly Thursday, light snow possible tonight
SUMMARY: Thursday morning starts off chilly with temperatures in the upper 20s and low 30s, reaching a midday high of 40°F. Cloud cover will increase into the evening, bringing the possibility of light snow and flurries overnight, especially in northern areas. Minor impacts are expected, primarily on elevated surfaces. Tomorrow will be colder, with highs stuck in the mid-30s. Looking ahead to Sunday and Monday, a winter storm may bring significant freezing rain, sleet, and snow, particularly challenging travel conditions. Following this system, temperatures could drop significantly, with highs in the 20s and potentially negative lows if snow and ice persist.

Hilltoppers announce additions of WR Jairus Mack, QB Maverick McIvor
SUMMARY: WKU Football announced the signings of wide receiver Jairus Mack and quarterback Maverick McIvor, adding them to the 2025 signing class. Mack, a former Charlotte player, recorded 51 receptions for 959 yards and three touchdowns across four seasons. McIvor, a graduate transfer from Abilene Christian, passed for 8,012 yards and 63 touchdowns in three seasons, leading his team to a UAC title and FCS Playoff appearance. The class now includes 23 new Hilltoppers, with 13 offensive players. The full signing class features recruits from high schools, community colleges, and other universities.

More snow for Monday
SUMMARY: Today, a winter storm warning remains in effect until 7 PM, bringing additional snow and ice to the WLKY region, with temperatures around 29°F feeling like 18°F due to wind chill. Residents are advised to stay indoors, as driving conditions are hazardous with accumulated snow and potential power outages from downed trees and lines. Throughout the day, expect snowfall mostly across southern Indiana and the Ohio River, with accumulations of 1 to 3 inches. Temperatures will remain below freezing with lows in the teens and highs only reaching the upper 20s. Frigid weather persists into Wednesday and Thursday.

Ice threat continues overnight – WTVQ
SUMMARY:
Meteorologist Dillon Gaudet reports that after heavy snow, central and eastern Kentucky faces an ice threat overnight, particularly along the I-64 corridor, where up to half an inch of ice may accumulate. Freezing rain will continue until around midnight, with temperatures remaining below freezing. Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for most of the region, except southern Kentucky, which has warmed to rain. Snow showers will return Monday, causing slick roads and reduced visibility. Cold temperatures will persist throughout the week, with highs in the teens and 20s, and lows possibly below zero. Another winter weather event is expected by week’s end.
