SUMMARY: A severe EF2 tornado recently destroyed Walt Disney Elementary School in Albin, leaving students in need of a new learning environment. As classes resume next week, students will be relocated to the old Alvin Elementary building, approximately four miles away. An emergency school board meeting was held to expedite recovery efforts, with rules relaxed to facilitate quicker procurement of necessary supplies. The town, shaken by the storm that tragically claimed a local resident’s life, is mobilizing resources to assist affected families. Community efforts are in place to ensure that the school year resumes without any missed days.

The Alvin Independent School District is helping one of its elementary schools pick up the pieces after it sustained significant damage, and asking for your help as well.
