The incident occurred on December 10 when the driver, 49-year-old Zulma Beltran, backed up and fled after hitting the girl, who reported the event to a school resource officer upon arrival. Investigators used surveillance footage from the school and neighborhood to identify Beltran, who had just dropped off another child at the school. She was arrested and charged with a felony count of failure to stop and render aid, potentially facing up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Plano police said the woman accused of hitting a girl walking to school had just dropped a child off at the same school before the incident occurred.

Smart, easy ways to get the most out of gasoline in your car
SUMMARY: To maximize gas usage and savings, consider the following tips. Buy quality, top-tier gas from brands like Chevron and Shell. Skip premium fuel unless necessary. Keep your tank at least half full during winter and busy travel periods. Maintain proper tire pressure, as it affects safety and fuel economy. Be cautious with eco mode; it doesn’t significantly improve mileage. Drive smoothly to enhance fuel efficiency. Remove unnecessary roof racks for better aerodynamics and use apps like Gas Buddy to find lower prices, especially at stations off highways. Lastly, avoid topping off your tank to prevent potential damage.
We can’t control the price of gasoline, but we can control the type we buy and how we use it.
