White Settlement drone sightings under federal investigation
SUMMARY: The White Settlement Police Department and federal investigators are investigating sightings of drones in no-fly zones near military properties, including a formation of six drones. Multiple residents and officers reported seeing the drones, which were estimated to be 100-200 feet above the ground near military installations. The incidents, occurring in a no-fly zone, are concerning due to potential threats like improper intelligence gathering. The FBI is involved, and authorities are seeking tips on who is responsible. Chief Cook emphasized that operating drones near federal properties without proper FAA authorization is illegal and can result in criminal or civil penalties.
White Settlement police say they are working with the FBI, and other federal investigators to learn more about possible drone sightings within the city.

UT Austin researchers study future use of hydrogen energy
SUMMARY: A hydrogen fueling dispenser at the University of Texas at Austin’s J.J. Pickle Research Campus is the least busy gas station in Texas, as only one person can use it. The “hydrogen proto-hub” studies hydrogen production and use, including fueling hydrogen-powered vehicles. Texas is a global leader in hydrogen production, used in industries like petrochemicals. The hub uses renewable energy for hydrogen production via water electrolysis and methane reformation. The facility provides clean power to a nearby supercomputer. A state policy report highlights the need for infrastructure and innovation to support hydrogen’s growth, forecasting significant economic benefits.
