High school basketball teams play in Lee County tournament

SUMMARY: The Lee County basketball tournament is underway at Morville High School this week. In the girls’ matchup, the Sal Tilla Tigers faced off against the defending 7A champions, the Lady Golden Wave. Early highlights included Bayy Sadell assisting Trinity Judon and Jade Rucker’s rebound leading to Destiny Tce’s missed three-pointer, later cleaned up by Rucker. The Golden Wave dominated, leading 37-8 at halftime and ultimately winning 66-6. In the boys’ game, the two below boys battled Morville Troopers. After a slow start, Michael Cole’s layup tied the game, with Jamarion Jones later boosting the Golden Wave to a 56-44 victory.
