Between 1788 and the Civil War, Jackson enslaved 325 people. A donation funded a collaboration with several organizations, leading to the identification of a five-acre search area. Radar imaging and other tools revealed depressions and limestone, suggesting grave sites. While 28 prospective graves have been identified, this number may change.
