Rain moves into Central Alabama tonight followed by some of the coldest weather we’ve had so far …
SUMMARY: Temperatures will rise into the 50s ahead of a cold front bringing rain tonight, with most areas seeing limited rainfall. Heavier downpours are possible south of I-20, with up to half an inch of rain in certain areas. North of I-20, totals will be under a quarter inch. By Thursday, high temperatures will only reach the 40s, with rain clearing early. Friday will be cold, with wind chills in the single digits to teens. A warm weekend follows, but unsettled weather returns by Sunday night, bringing rain and possible thunderstorms into Tuesday.

Baldwin County chaplain in New Orleans after terror attack
SUMMARY: The death toll from the New Orleans terror attack remains at 14, with nearly three dozen injured, many still hospitalized. Baldwin County chaplain Tony Dicky has been offering support to the victims, comforting families and sharing in their grief. Memorials line Bourbon Street for those lost. Among the survivors, Jeremy Siny, who was injured when a terrorist’s truck ran over him, is expected to recover. Despite the ongoing pain, Dicky highlights the emotional and spiritual healing brought by community support. He believes the care and compassion of strangers is helping victims on their difficult journey toward recovery.

WKRG News 5 This Morning Prodisee Pantry Magnolia Ball Preview
SUMMARY: Well Proty Pantry has served the Baldwin County community since 2003, helping those in need of food. In 2024, they assisted nearly 11,000 families amid rising grocery prices. Executive Director Deian Servos announced their upcoming Magnolia Ball, scheduled for this Saturday at the Grand Hotel Golf Resort and Spa, which aims to raise funds for their operations. Last year, they provided 1.4 million pounds of food to food-insecure families. The event will feature live music and floral donations, with ticket and donation information available via a QR code or the organization’s website. Your support helps ensure families receive healthy meals year-round.

WKRG News 5 This Morning Red Couch Souls of Time
SUMMARY: “The Souls of Time” is a musical drama created by local talents Yavon Matthews and Japonica Brown, supported by the Mobile County Commission. After a successful debut last year, the play returns to Mobile, where it resonated with the community. Both creators express excitement about representing Mobile’s rich culture and black history, celebrating progress and truth. This year’s performance features new actors and fresh energy, along with a special pre-show music CD project. Scheduled for January 17th, the event starts with a 6:30 PM pre-show, followed by the main performance at 7 PM. Tickets are available at the Sanger box office.
