SUMMARY: Tonight, Missouri executed Chris Collings for the 2007 rape and murder of 9-year-old Rowan Ford, a case that drew national attention. Collings, 49, was pronounced dead by lethal injection at 6:10 PM. He confessed to kidnapping, assaulting, and strangling Rowan. Controversially, her stepfather, David Spears, who reportedly admitted his involvement and led authorities to her body, received lesser charges and was released in 2015. President Biden pardons his son Hunter; lawmakers react
SUMMARY: Reactions to President Biden’s pardon for his son, Hunter, have sparked criticism from lawmakers across the political spectrum, including some Democrats. Many feel Biden contradicted his earlier stance of not pardoning his son, raising concerns about the independence of the Justice Department. The pardon covers Hunter’s felony convictions and any offenses dating back to 2014.
