Manna House Celebrates 20 Years | December 3, 2024 | News 19 at 10 p.m.
SUMMARY: Manna House, a Huntsville organization celebrating its 20th anniversary, has been dedicated to feeding and nurturing the community since its inception. Founded by Tamika, who began serving meals from her porch, the organization now operates from its own facility with numerous volunteers. The organization fosters a supportive environment free from judgment, encouraging those it helps to return as volunteers. Manna House aims to ensure that no one in the community goes hungry and continues to offer assistance three days a week.
Fran Fluhler started serving people from the front porch of her home. 20 years later, her efforts have grown into an operation with its own building and laundry list of volunteers.

Children's supports Springville family through hearing loss diagnosis
SUMMARY: Shiloh Buckner, a bright and active child, was diagnosed with cookie bite hearing loss at age five, prompting her family’s journey with Children’s of Alabama. Despite initial feelings of anxiety, Shiloh has thrived, excelling academically and athletically across multiple sports. Through a program called Picks for Kids, the family received new hearing aids worth $8,000, alleviating financial burdens. Shiloh enjoys her fashionable hearing aids, which enhance both her hearing and her ability to connect with friends.

Summerdale Christmas tree farm sees busiest weekend in over 40 years
