SUMMARY: Meteorologist Grant Skinner reports a dry, chilly weekend with high pressure in place, keeping temperatures in the 30s to low 40s across the region. While parts of the northeast experience significant lake-effect snow, the Gulf Coast remains clear and comfortable. Today’s high will reach the low 60s with calm winds. The dry weather will continue through Wednesday, with temperatures dipping into the 20s and 30s at night. A front on Thursday will bring rain and storms, followed by cooler weather with highs in the 50s and 60s by the weekend. The next few days will be cold, but temperatures will warm slightly later in the week.

It is a frigid morning with temperatures starting in the upper-20’s and 30’s across the News 5 area. A Freeze Warning has been issued and lasts through 8 a.m. Sunday. High pressure will continue to be the dominant feature through the end of today keeping winds lighter and dry conditions in place. This afternoon will be a bit warmer into the low-60’s. Monday will bring chilly temperatures to start, but highs will be mild. Another blast of cold air arrives later Monday into Tuesday as another ridge of high pressure builds into the region. We will stay dry through midweek. By later next week, the high will shift to our southeast bringing southerly winds. This will allow for warmth and moisture to return to the region, so highs will push to near 70 and isolated showers will be possible on Thursday. On Friday, temperatures will begin to cool as another front passes through the region.
