SUMMARY: This Thanksgiving, the Salvation Army in Mobile provided a holiday feast for those in need, serving over a thousand plates. Volunteers prepared 80 turkeys, 150 lbs each of green beans, yams, and their famous dressing, along with desserts. About 100 volunteers helped, many returning annually to serve the community. For some, it’s a family tradition, like one volunteer who brought their sons to serve for the first time. Volunteers emphasized the joy of seeing people leave satisfied, knowing they’ve made a difference. The event’s success was made possible by community donations and months of preparation.

Hundreds of cars lined the street Thursday morning to get a taste of what the Salvation Army had in store for this year’s annual Thanksgiving meal.
