'Tis the season: Car break-in suspects caught on camera in south county

Published

www.youtube.com – FOX 2 St. Louis – 2024-11-25 21:40:57

SUMMARY: As the holidays approach, a South St. Louis County neighborhood is on alert after a recent string of car break-ins. Around 2:30 AM, four suspects were captured on surveillance cameras as they ransacked parked vehicles, stealing items like headphones and medication. Local resident Aaron Bill, whose security footage documented the incident, feels uneasy about the increasing crime. While he and others express frustration, they note the neighborhood’s generally safe reputation. Bill recalls a similar incident from last year, where the juvenile suspects were eventually caught and certified as adults for harsher penalties. Residents hope for increased security.

Aaron Vilcek said it’s happened again: Suspects were captured on surveillance cameras pulling on car door handles in the middle of the night on Wickershire Lane in south St. Louis County.

“It’s that time of the year,” he said.

Missouri court upholds ban on transgender care for minors, appeal planned

Published

on

www.youtube.com – KSDK News – 2024-11-25 18:44:34

SUMMARY: A Missouri court has upheld the state’s ban on surgical or medically induced gender transition operations for minors. The ruling, made by Judge Craig Carter, noted the lack of consensus on medical ethics in treating adolescent gender dysphoria, leaving such debates to the legislature. The ACLU and a legal group representing a St. Louis County family plan to appeal, deeming the decision discriminatory. The law allows mental health counseling but prohibits hormone therapy or transition surgeries for minors. Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey praised the ruling, asserting it protects children unable to make informed decisions about significant bodily changes.

The judge said heaping piles of witness testimony and evidence stacked in the courtroom were really better suited for legislators or medical experts to sort out. ACLU of Missouri immediately announced plans to appeal, characterizing the decision as “a troubling acceptance of discrimination.”

SUMMARY: Missouri’s congressional delegation is demanding answers from President Biden about the release of violent Venezuelan prison gang members from the Tren De Aragua (TdA) in the state. TdA members, involved in crimes like murder, human trafficking, and drug smuggling, are linked to over 100 law enforcement investigations. After two TdA members were stopped in Missouri, ICE advised their release due to Venezuela’s refusal to accept deported citizens. Lawmakers criticized Biden for not pressuring Venezuela and for releasing dangerous individuals into communities. They also urged him to disclose the number of TdA members still in the U.S. awaiting deportation.
