SUMMARY: At the SEMA show, James Bell from Kia North America showcases the Kia Weekender concept, an all-electric adventure van designed for off-grid exploration. The vehicle addresses concerns about electrification and charging capabilities in remote areas by integrating solar panels on the roof and a Turbo Hybrid Wheels system. These fans generate electricity as the vehicle moves, ensuring the battery stays charged even in the wilderness. The Weekender combines innovative energy solutions, including harnessing power from sunlight, wind, and water, offering a sustainable option for outdoor enthusiasts. The concept highlights Kia’s push toward futuristic, eco-friendly transportation.
Patrick welcomes guest James Bell, Head of Corporate Communications for Kia North America to talk about the Kia Weekender electric vehicle.

Frustrations heightening as potholes from I-10 roadwork lead to traffic jams, incidents
SUMMARY: Road work on I-10 is causing significant disruptions for drivers, particularly around Diamond Head and Harrison County. Potholes and crumbling pavement have led to traffic jams and emergency repairs. One driver, Edna D, reported her car lifting off the ground after hitting a pothole, damaging her windshield. Mississippi Department of Transportation project manager Tanner Briyan explained that the potholes are caused by inadequate drainage pipes unable to support heavy trucks. Currently, repairs are underway, and shoulder lanes will be closed until the issues are resolved to ensure driver safety and smoother traffic flow.
Roadwork continues on I-10 in Harrison County, and it’s been a bumpy road thus far for drivers.
