Sculpture depicts May 26 tornado that forever changed Rogers
SUMMARY: In Rogers, a new sculpture named “Tornado Town” serves as a healing monument for the community after the violent storm on Memorial Day weekend. The sculpture, created from 475 donated trampoline springs, depicts the tornado that struck on May 26. Weighing 200 pounds and built from local damaged property, it took 500 hours to complete. The design features a unique structure to support its display, as it may not have a permanent location yet. Community members hope this artwork will allow them to reflect on the storm’s lasting impact.

Little Flock helping storm victims by taking away this fee
SUMMARY: The Little Flock City Council has voted to waive building permit fees for residents rebuilding after storms that occurred this year. During a recent meeting at Sunshine School, the council approved Ordinance 2024-015, allowing for fee waivers or reimbursements for structures damaged in the storms on May 26 and November 4. Property owners must provide before-and-after photos and undergo an interview with the mayor, who will also inspect the properties. This initiative aims to support local rebuilding efforts as the holiday season approaches, potentially saving property owners hundreds to thousands of dollars based on individual circumstances.
Folks that are working to clean up from May 26 or November 4 storms will get a break for the next year.
