EMS rushes to help second-line shooting victims

SUMMARY: On Sunday afternoon, New Orleans EMS responded to a mass shooting involving multiple victims across two locations during the 9 Times Social Aid and Pleasure Club second line event in the St. Rock neighborhood. EMS arrived seven minutes after the initial 911 call and quickly recognized the situation as a mass casualty incident. Thirteen people, ranging from 19 to 71 years old, were injured, with two fatalities. Despite the chaotic scene, EMS responders, experienced with shootings in the city, efficiently prioritized care. Police are actively investigating the incident and vow to catch those responsible. The community remains in shock and mourning.
