Importance Of Getting Your Flu Shot | November 15, 2024 | News 19 This Morning
SUMMARY: Doctors in Alabama are urging residents to get vaccinated against the flu, emphasizing the importance of early vaccination as flu activity remains low. Dr. Wes Stubblefield, a district medical officer, warns that waiting until flu prevalence increases could be too late. Each year, the flu causes numerous deaths in the state, and experts recommend annual vaccinations for everyone over six months, especially high-risk groups such as seniors, young children, and individuals with chronic conditions. Flu shots are available statewide and are crucial for preventing severe illness and hospitalizations. Vaccination builds immunity over two weeks and is generally safe to administer alongside other vaccines.

Travis Lofton found guilty of murdering Daphne restaurant manager
SUMMARY: Travis Lofton was convicted of murder for killing Jason Mallette, a man he believed had raped his wife, Ariel Allen. The jury found Lofton guilty in under two hours, and the verdict brought relief to Mallette’s family, though they expressed anger over Lofton’s lack of remorse. Evidence showed Lofton acted on his wife’s false claim of rape, leading him to shoot Mallette at a shopping center. Despite Lofton’s conviction, Allen, whose lies were the motive for the crime, faces no consequences. Lofton’s sentencing is pending, with a sentence of 20 years to life expected.

Trump could move Space Command headquarters from Colorado to Alabama | Alabama

Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, expressed confidence in this reversal and anticipates construction in Huntsville starting next year. He criticized Biden’s original decision as politically motivated, emphasizing Alabama’s strong qualifications for hosting Space Command. While Colorado Governor Jared Polis asserted that Colorado remains the rightful location due to its military assets, Rogers noted minimal opposition from House Democrats during discussions on the matter.
