Hurricane Milton: Florida neighborhood still flooded weeks after storm hit
SUMMARY: Five weeks after Hurricane Milton, parts of Valia County remain submerged, with floodwaters still 4 to 5 feet deep on Lane Road. Residents are facing numerous issues, including disrupted septic tanks and water wells. The water is rising due to a drainage system installed in 2017, which redirects water from a commercial area into Miller Lake, exacerbating the flooding. Neighbors believe this system is malfunctioning and fear further damage, especially with another storm approaching. They’ve sought help from local authorities, but no solutions have been offered. They urge officials to seal the drainage pipe to prevent further flooding.
Five weeks to the day since Hurricane Milton tore across central Florida, one area in Volusia County is still underwater.

Tampa International Airport expected to break travel records this Thanksgiving
SUMMARY: Tampa International Airport (TPA) is expecting record-breaking holiday travel, with approximately 80,000 passengers over the next two weeks. The busiest day will be the Sunday before Thanksgiving, causing longer TSA wait times—up to 30 minutes for standard security. Travelers should avoid bringing firearms, as TPA has seen a rise in gun attempts, leading to fines up to $13,000. Parking will be limited, so booking in advance is recommended. Ongoing construction at airside A and E may cause delays, particularly for Delta, Frontier, and Air Canada passengers. Travelers should plan ahead for busy holiday seasons and potential savings on Black Friday flights.s
