SUMMARY: In the Louisiana village of Tanip Poa, a key mayoral election was decided by just one vote, with mayor-elect Virginia Gr receiving 118 votes against incumbent Sheila Martin’s 117. This close result highlights the significance of every vote in a small community with around 350 eligible voters. Meanwhile, the local school board placed Superintendent Dr. Charles Butler on administrative leave amid an investigation, appointing principal Ms. LEL LoveIt as the acting superintendent. Additionally, discussions at the state capital continue regarding the governor’s tax reform plan, which aims to reduce individual income taxes while raising sales taxes to offset a significant revenue loss. Heavy rainfall is expected over the weekend, so residents should prepare for wet weather.
