SUMMARY: The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) agreed not to interfere with ‘s election after being sued by Texas . A federal judge issued a temporary restraining order to enforce this. The DOJ planned to monitor compliance with federal rights in 86 jurisdictions but was prohibited from polling places in Texas.
