Simpson County coach charged with sexual battery

Jackson State announces contract extension for T.C. Taylor

Three men arrested in Mississippi after police find $115,000 in fraudulent checks
SUMMARY: Three men from Florida were arrested in Richland, Mississippi, after more than $115,000 in fraudulent checks were intercepted by authorities on October 29. Police conducted a traffic stop and discovered 20 forged checks, along with $3,500 in cash and marijuana in their vehicle. The suspects, Raymond Varona Garcia (20), Darian Jesus Caceres (24), and Jahiron Boloy Valdes (26), were attempting to cash the checks while traveling to Texas. They face charges of felony possession of counterfeit instruments. Investigators are in contact with multiple victims from Ohio, Texas, and Florida, with one having lost $29,000 previously to the group.

Board approves two new Mississippi charter schools
