How to keep stink bugs out of your home this winter
SUMMARY: As temperatures drop, many insects, especially stink bugs, seek warm indoor shelters for winter. In Jefferson County, pest control expert Darnell warns that even small gaps, like a tenth of an inch, can allow these pests inside. While stink bugs don’t bite or carry diseases, they can be unpleasant and release a strong odor when threatened or squished. Darnell advises homeowners to spray pesticides around their homes and seal windows and doors to prevent infestations. If stink bugs do enter, remove them carefully to avoid the smell. Infested homes may attract these pests year after year.
A tenth of an inch is all the need to get inside.
