WKRG News 5 This Morning Voices of Black Women Survey
SUMMARY: The “Voices of Black Women” study, launched by the American Cancer Society on March 6, 2024, aims to recruit 100,000 Black women aged 25-55 to investigate disparities in cancer outcomes compared to white women. The study seeks to understand factors like access and costs that contribute to these inequalities, as Black women have been historically underrepresented in research. Pamela Burles, an oncology nurse, emphasizes the importance of this study for addressing the unique health challenges faced by Black women. Interested participants can sign up at voices.cancer.org, where they will complete a brief assessment and subsequent surveys.
