Update on early voting turnout in the St. Louis region
SUMMARY: One week remains until election day, and early voting is seeing a significant turnout. Chris Regnier reports from St. Louis County, where polls opened today at 8 AM for no-excuse absentee voting. Since last Tuesday, nearly 99,000 voters have participated, including over 20,000 who voted yesterday alone. St. Louis County officials predict that early voting numbers may exceed those from the 2020 election. Despite long lines and increased demand, election officials are prepared with extra staffing. Voters must bring a photo ID, as provisional ballots are not allowed during the early voting period, which runs until November 4.
FOX 2’s Chris Regnier travels to the St. Louis County Election Board Headquarters in St. Ann to take a look at the lines to vote and he gets the opportunity to speak with St. Louis County Republican Director of Elections Rick Stream, who talks about how they have been able to manage the large turnout.

Lettuce tests negative in St. Louis County E. coli outbreak
SUMMARY: In St. Louis County, over 100 people have fallen ill due to an E. coli outbreak linked to salads served at five events catered by Andres Catering. Although lettuce samples tested negative for the bacteria, health officials caution that this does not exclude Andres as a potential source, as E. coli can exist in isolated pockets. The outbreak has resulted in two serious illnesses, and Andres’s owner claims their business has been wrongly accused, asserting that people who did not eat their food also contracted E. coli. Legal representation for affected individuals indicates lawsuits against Andres are forthcoming.
St. Louis County health officials have reported over 100 people sickened in an ongoing E. Coli outbreak potentially connected to salads served at several events, despite a recent negative test result for lettuce samples.

Massive fire damages three homes in Eureka, no injuries reported
SUMMARY: A devastating fire in Eureka destroyed a home in the popular Legends community. The Biederman family, including Jeff, his wife Brianna, and their two young children, lost most of their possessions but escaped unharmed. They credit their Doberman Pinscher for alerting them to the fire, allowing them to evacuate in time. The fire, which began around midnight, quickly engulfed both the house and garage. Despite losing a cat in the blaze, the family managed to save their other pets. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and several fire departments helped battle the flames.
Eureka Assistant Fire Chief Scott Berthelmas says that his crew received the call for the fire just before midnight. While on the way to the fire, officials say crews could see the flames from afar. By the time fire crews arrived on the scene, both the home and the attached garage were already fully engulfed in flames.
