SUMMARY: Governor Tate Reeves pardoned a turkey named Roasty Toasty this Thanksgiving, sparing it from being served as a meal. The turkey was chosen for its temperament and appearance from homesteader Stacey Hendry in Collins. This event, held at the Governor’s Mansion in Jackson, is part of the third annual Turkey Pardon and contributes to Extra Table’s Thanksgiving initiative, encouraging donations to provide 9,000 Mississippi-grown chickens to families in need.
