Coalition joins Virginia in SCOTUS appeal over ‘noncitizen’ voters | Virginia

Miyares plans to file an emergency appeal a ruling from the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that rejected Virginia’s request to prevent the reinstatement of over 1,500 noncitizen registrations. The attorneys general argue that the District Court’s ruling undermines state authority over voter qualifications. Miyares criticized the ruling as politically motivated, while the Justice Department claims it violates the “quiet period” in the National Voter Registration Act.
