“It was just mothers instinct,” says officer who recovered missing baby

It was a heartwarming scene. A 2-month-old baby returned to his mother after a frantic Amber Alert launched a massive search across Ohio.
Columbus officers recovered the baby and offered a gentle touch as well. Emotions were high, and the fear was thick.

South Carolina ramps up election security with new $30M voting machines
SUMMARY: As South Carolina prepares for the 2024 election, election officials are enhancing measures to ensure integrity and security of the voting process. Howard Nap, executive director of the South Carolina State Election Commission, anticipates a record turnout of 2.5 to 2.8 million voters. They have invested $30 million in new, secure voting machines that are internet-free, along with additional ballot marking devices to alleviate potential line delays. Nap also addressed concerns about non-citizens on voter rolls, reporting no findings of inappropriate registrations. He emphasizes civility and encourages reporting any improprieties to local election offices for investigation.

Scattered rain ahead

FBI searches house connected to Mica Miller's husband
SUMMARY: The FBI executed a search warrant at the home of Solid Rock Pastor John Paul Miller, following the controversial death of his wife, Micah Miller, ruled a suicide in April. The couple was undergoing a divorce, and Micah’s family had accused JP of abuse. Public outcry and protests demanded a thorough investigation into her death. FBI agents were observed removing plastic evidence bags from the home, while unmarked vehicles were staged outside. The FBI’s involvement followed a request for assistance from local authorities, although JP Miller has not been charged with any crimes related to Micah’s death.
The FBI is conducting “court-authorized law enforcement activity” at a home connected to John-Paul โJPโ Miller, an FBI spokesperson confirmed to ABC15.
John-Paul, a pastor at Solid Rock Church in The Market Common, was married to Mica Miller, who died by suicide at Lumber River State Park in Robeson County on April 27.
