PRVWSD issues boil water notice for more than 4,000 customers
SUMMARY: A boil water notice has been issued for subdivisions in the Pelahatchie Bay water system #610036 in Rankin County, Mississippi, due to a 10″ water main break reported on October 28. The Pearl River Valley Water Supply District (PRVWSD) announced that approximately 4,319 water connections are affected by this notice. Officials plan to begin water sampling from the impacted area on the same day the notice was issued and will continue until clear results are obtained, as stated by Facilities Maintenance Director Dwyane Mangum. Residents are advised to boil water until the notice is lifted.

Hattiesburg High School student injured after being hit by car while crossing street
SUMMARY: A Hattiesburg High School student was injured after being hit by a car while crossing the street on October 28, shortly before 8:30 a.m. The accident occurred at the intersection of Hardy Street and Hutchinson Avenue when a driver turning left failed to see the 17-year-old student. The teenager sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The driver remained on the scene to give a statement, and the police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
