www.youtube.com – ABC Action – 2024-10-27 18:15:02

SUMMARY: The 2024 election is expected to be contentious, with ballots becoming potential sources of controversy leading to numerous lawsuits. Over 165 cases have already emerged from both political sides concerning ballot handling and election laws. As the race tightens, legal battles in courtrooms could intensify, especially if the results are close. An example raised includes Pennsylvania’s requirement for voters to sign and date ballot envelopes, potentially leading to significant litigation. Legal teams for both parties are preparing for post-election disputes, and the Supreme Court may play a crucial role, reminiscent of the pivotal rulings in the 2000 election.

As the election enters its final stages, one looming question is how much of a role the courts will play? It may end up spilling into several court rooms in the days and weeks after the votes are counted. Scripps News Deputy Political Director Joe St. George has insight on the after the game.
